restart macos is not useful

RegulusZ commented 11 months ago

After I demoted the software to 14.12, I was able to recover. It seemed to be a problem with the new version of the software

same 14.3.0

zshowing commented 11 months ago

same here

mmadden commented 10 months ago

Same here: updated to macOS 14.2, updated to Karabiner 14.13.0, and now I always get the restart required message after deactivating the driver and restarting. Keyboard modifications are not working.

YouRik commented 10 months ago

Also having the same problem

Deactivated the driver and restarted several times, reinstalled Karabiner, fully uninstalled and installed again, nothing changed. Seems to be an issue with the Karabiner version rather than the macOS, however did not downgrade Karabiner yet.

UPDATE: uninstalling Karabiner 4.13.0, and installing Karabiner 4.12.0 with the installer from Github Releases fixed the issue even on macOS 14.2.

same here... can you please fix this?

Same issue on...

Macos - 13.6.3 (updated last night) 14.12 or 14.13

The driver prompt keeps popping up even after multiple tries.

Not sure why it worked for yourik but dropping the version does not fix the issue

Similar issues reported with macOS 14.2 and Karabiner-Elements v14.13.0 were also occurring in my environment. After updating my macOS to 14.2.1 this morning, the problems were resolved and it's now working fine.

darko-milosevic commented 10 months ago

Not for me. I tried Karabiner v14.12 and v14.13 on macOS 14.1, 14.1.1, 14.1.2. 14.2, 14.2.1 it's always the same. I don't get the Activate driver button. And when I take the other step of deactivating, restarting the machine and activating the driver I get: Error 1

I'm also having this issue. Updated to 14.2 and it no longer works. None of my function keys do anything except F11 which shows the desktop and that's not set it Karabiner so IDK where that's coming from.

Currently experiencing this issues myself. Usually when I have to update Karabiner it includes button to activate the driver and can workaround this driver business, but now I only get the option to deactivate driver.

current workaround is to downgrade to 14.12.0 as someone mentioned above
