Karabiner makes other shortcuts with Escape not work #897

I have installed Karabiner and the shortcuts I had with Escape don't work anymore. For example, I can't open Terminal with VSCode using Shift+Escape. When I try to set up a new shortcut, pressing Escape closes the "Record shortcut" window (I tried that both in VSCode and WebStorm).

It doesn't have anything to do with my modifications since even if I turn them off the problem persists.

macOS version: 10.15.5 Catalina
Karabiner version: 12.10.0
Your Mac hardware: MacBook Pro 15 inch 2016 (with Touch Bar)
Your keyboard hardware: Internal keyboard of said laptop
