Can't remap CapsLock on Non-Mac keyboard #39

Using latest Seil @ 10.9.3 Hackintosh-book (No DSDT, only Clover patches applied on boot if that matters). Tried to remap to 79,80 keycodes and such, but no success actually. EventViewer doesn't shows anything on caps after I set 'no action' in prefs.

Seil does not work with PS/2 keyboard. If you are using PS/2 keyboard, please try USB keyboard.

lungelimb commented 10 years ago

Thanks for a fast reply. But how do I know whether keyboard on my notebook connected via PS/2 or USB-HID? 'About this Mac' doesn't hold any evidence about PS/2 and using external keyboard would be cumbersome. Just like using default hotkey Command+Space.

"System Information.app" shows more detailed information. Or ioreg command also shows the heirarchical device information.

lungelimb commented 10 years ago

Indeed, ioreg showed a PS2Controller. Shame. Probably you should add info on not supporting PS/2 to FAQ website section, since features of Karabiner/Seil both apply to Hackintosh. Thanks anyway. Closing.

@lungelimb do you have any success with PS2?
