Toggle keyboard light on Caps lock? #43

Hi

Is it possible to toggle the keyboard light when caps lock key is hit?

tekezo commented 10 years ago

Did you want to synchronize keyboard backlit and caps lock state?

If not, if you just want to use physical caps lock key as toggle backlit, you can do it by changing caps lock key to f19 (keycode == 80) by Seil and using this private.xml with Karabiner. https://github.com/tekezo/Files/blob/master/Karabiner/private.f19_toggle_keyboard_backlit/private.xml

How to use private.xml: https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/document.html#privatexml

The simple way is using this updated private.xml: https://github.com/tekezo/Files/blob/master/Karabiner/private.f19_toggle_keyboard_backlit/private.xml (Use Seil to change caps lock to f19 together.)

Note: This way shows an indicator notification when you press caps lock key.

I'm running OS X 10.8, not sure if it is supported?

OK. This updated private.xml should work on OS X 10.8. https://github.com/tekezo/Files/blob/master/Karabiner/private.f19_toggle_keyboard_backlit/private.xml
