@vinaygaba : Let's use this issue to keep track of where we are with push messaging.

From what I've gathered after a cursory glance of the docs is that we need to satisfy some prerequisites on the client side before we can send notifications from the API. To get started, can you please carry out the steps mentioned in this document. Let us know when this is done and then we can plan the next steps!
