No AUR version: slow compile times on old computers #1271

No AUR version of hyprdots

Hyprdots is amazing but on old hardware can take an hour to pull and compile all the needed programs and dependencies. At this point several alternatives are available as part of the arch repositories. It would be amazing to have a light version based solely on the arch repos. Currently a very simple attempt as the memory usage at less than 600 megs but I lack the bash skills to make a proper installation script.

Thank you for the great work!

HI @joaomfds Sadly some core packages use on this rice are not yet available on the official repos.

Can you share your progress, maybe we can help.

Security aside, I would suggest using chaotic AUR for now? https://aur.chaotic.cx/

@kRHYME7 brooo is it possible to setup chaotic aur when installing Hyde. Cuz I think it would be great and asking for confirmation too

Yes, the Hyde-install command asks users to install it.
