[Feature Request]: Timeshift support and looking-glass VM for Windows 11 (for Grub) #822

Feature Request

Description and Use Case

[TIMESHIFT]

It would be very practical to have automatic backups with timeshift so that you can jump back if something breaks.

[SEVERAL ARCH VERSIONS IN GRUB]

This feature could be used in conjunction with Timeshift if you can't get into the system and something is broken due to an update of the Linux version.

[LOOKING-GLASS VM]

It would be cool to have an alternative operating system for small work, testing and fun. This could be integrated into the waybar like My Linux For Work (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EujO_5KvCCo) for quick and easy switching.

Yeah timeshift is truly a game changer.💪

In me, I don't have any clue on how to implement it so that most users will be happy. Considering the disk spaces and also touching the system.

But about the VM part that's awesome! I'll try to implement this on https://github.com/kRHYME7/Hyprdots-ctl.

Timeshift don't work well with systems having systemdboot instead of grub, better try to implement rsync for the task if you are considering it

What's about this, are there any new Infos regarding this Feature /Idea or it's Implementation?

For Arch Linux, there is a yabsnap written specifically for it. It is a console utility that is easily configurable. https://github.com/hirak99/yabsnap
