Viewing the heatmaps when zoomed out creates a slow user experience. Binning the results into a lower level of granularity will preserve some information while maintaining a responsive app.

6 hour time estimate? What sort of crazy optimist was I! This issue is closed by #58 and a small bug is fixed by #60
