createMockAndExpectNew does not support collaborators with constructors with Array #547

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I updated the tutorial example
demo.org.powermock.examples.tutorial.domainmocking.domain and attached it to
demonstrate the issue. (Only the updated classes are attached)

But here are the steps:
1. Create collaborator (class to be mocked) with constructor that takes an
array.
2. createMockAndExpectNew(). I tried many ways (including both overloaded
methods) as you see in my attached test.
3. Execute test.

==============================================================
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The tests should be successful, but I see 2 different exceptions thrown during
the CUT execution phase, and the exception message does not make sense.

----------------------------------------------------
All tests except #3 throw this: Can you explain this message to me?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6.2, Windows 7

==============================================================
Please provide any additional information below.
IMO, it was an API mistake to use varargs in the createMockAndExpectNew,
especially since it is overloaded and one of the other parameters is an array.
It is extremely confusing to the user.

Ooops! I messed up SampleServiceImplTest testCreatePerson3 before I uploaded.

I reattached, but here is the change.
Remove line 128.
Uncomment new line 130 -> BusinessMessages businessMessagesMock =
createMockAndExpectNew(BusinessMessages.class, (Object[]) new String[]{});

And here is the exception.
org.powermock.reflect.exceptions.ConstructorNotFoundException: No constructor
found in class
