Please add a version variable #658

The various versions of this library have a variety of incompatibilities with 
the services it supports.  Unfortunately, there's no easy way for programs that 
use gdata-python-client to detect what version they're on.

Could you please add a version variable somewhere so that in future versions at 
least, programs can know if they're using a compatible version of the library?
