74HC instead 74LS? #1

May i use 74HC series instead 74LS? I'm getting a green screen

In fact, I have not tried it and I myself do not know if it will work with HC series. The 74LS is Transistor to Transistor logic. The 74HC uses MOSFET technology and it can operate with wider variety of voltages. Transition speeds are not too much different. I think the green screen is not related to this. What model of computer do you have and how do you insert the cartridge? For ATARI 65XE, the cartridge must be inserted with the parts down to the table so that the chips are not visible when the board is inserted into the computer. Several of my cartridges also gave out a green screen due to the fact that the SMD components were poorly soldered and flux remained somewhere under them. Reheating with a hot air helped in all cases.

Ok, now is working with 74hc chips, but with garbage in a 65xe with 130xe motherboard and 128kb ram.

No problem in 800xl

I have ten cartridges working without problems on my 65XE with a 512Kb memory extension (by TFHH).
