What is the status of the project?

A lot of unresolved issues for some time now, same for pull requests.

The project is clearly not actively maintained, even if the maintainers don't say anything about it, which is obvious. The project is my biggest obstacle every time I upgrade Next.js and makes me think if preact is worth using.
