Looking if anyone has integrated DFP API directly into thier prebid library so that prebid bidding only happens when there is no direct ad.

Not exactly, as we would still want the other benefits of headerbidding that this does not not have. Idea is to just only run prebid demand when there is no direct demand, because there are certain scenerios where prebid demand cannot acutally win the impression, so why call it?

To clarify idea is for this as a feature that we could turn on and off?

not sure if that makes sense...

Agree that the solution here is postbid.
