install and run RawTherapee locally

Test the speed and feasibility of running Rawtherapee locally instead of from SUNNY especially when it comes to loading and working with images in RawTherapee.

• install RawTherapee
• downloading a "test" batch from azure
  • manually download a "batch" from field-batches from the azure storage explorer
  • right click on the batch that has a large (> 100) amount of images
  • batch NC_2023-04-25/raws/01 has 308 images
• Perform color profiling as you normally would
• This is all being done locally

Try not to spend more than 3 hours of your 16 hr total.

Notes:

• Downloaded RawTherapee to computer and set up successfully.
• Creating profiles and toggling settings are very quick now - a win!
• The speed of downloading batches is variable. I first tested with NC_2023-04-25/raws/01 as mentioned above. This downloaded quickly. Next, I tested with NC_2023-06-14 - an untouched batch with 330 images between 01 & 02 - and it has taken 8 minutes, - not a win.

My only concern is apply profile to the entire batch does seem to take a while. It is applying the profile to images one-by-one, unlike when I do this through the RawTherapee within Moba where it loads the profile to the entire (/01) batch at once. I would guess the normal route of applying a profile to a (/0#) batch would take 1 minute max, whereas this is taking 3-4 minutes. I am also unsure if it successfully applied to every image.

• How to download batches to Moba directly (as usual) and bring them to my local version of RawTherapee?

Ok thanks. and Good note. Let's keep trying with another computer. But makes sense that the profiling takes longer on your local laptop vs on SUNNY.
