time zero "collect" #7

Open brianwdavis opened 3 years ago

brianwdavis commented 3 years ago

Some users are scanning a decomp bag pickup for time zero bags.

Instead, let's make sure that time zero collect date is filled in decomp_biomass_dry.recovery_date from the "psa biomass decomp bag" form when fresh weights are taken.

@saseehav people are submitting the "psa biomass decomp bag" form even if they're not stuffing bags right? Because it instructs them on how to take the quadrats. Or are they not?

saseehav commented 3 years ago

to confirm I understand: decomp_biomass_dry.recovery_date is equal to users scanning all time zero bags when taken fresh and entering a date in the "psa_biomass" recently renamed from "psa_biomass_decomp_bags"

What do they actually scan if they're not doing the full decomp protocol for that form?

saseehav commented 3 years ago

They scan nothing. the form just walks them through the measurements and protocol. But they have the barcodes already for bag pre-wt and bag dry-wt, so it would work pretty well for them to scan the T0 bags in the fresh wts form as well. I can make it say what you indicated in the form.

My concern is to make sure they actually SUBMIT the form, instead of going through it and not submitting. Since it has the date they're collecting, but they might not think they need to submit, since they didn't scan anything.

saseehav commented 3 years ago

True, but there are a whole bunch of questions now like growth stage, termination date, etc, so it still feels natural to submit, but I really like scanning the T0 too.

As long as they're submitting, we can get the data out. What would they scan T0 for, if they're not weighing it in the field? Just to acknowledge that bag? Or do you mean scanning the pickup form at the same time?
