Users need a way to clearly and quickly parse out the information they're looking for. This should be consistent across tools.

Description

Each filter menu should be easy to get to, easy to visually scan, and unobtrusive. .

As a user I think there's a lot that's being shown to me with the filters, and that the filter bars on the side are not obvious.
As a user, I'd like a warning message or explanation when the filter combo I select has no matching results.

Filters need to work on a variety of screens and resolutions
Define consistent "Types" of filter options ie. Bools, vs multi-select, vs single select
Define clear selected or deselected states
Define how user shortcuts such as seeing all active filters, clearing some or all filters etc.
