null out timer once it fires #15

Oops, I forgot to amend my last commit to include this. This prevents the callback from firing a second time after a timeout.

Maybe. I'm not sure what the future plans are and I'm not sure how much time I will have to spend on this, especially once it works at a basic level for me. If you give me ideas of things on the JS-side that need to be done (or file them as issues) then I may make more patches.
