Italics doesnt work - Githubissues

I am using iTERM 2 , and I have italics enabled for vim/terminal (my vim comments show up in italics),

However, when I do italic or italic , it just shows up as non italicised text.

Bold and links but italics do not.

italics work for me after following the instructions here
