Traditional Knowledge (TK) labels are distinctions for Indigenous knowledge, which is essential for Indigenous content and concepts. TK labels are not equivalent, nor replaceable by Creative Common Licenses. With the importance of protecting Indigenous cultural knowledge in all contexts, especially digital, this would aid OER creation by Indigenous People, and remove a barrier for sharing knowledge.
This will be used to license work created by Indigenous Peoples or perhaps, by those citing Indigenous Peoples and their works. This would work alongside CC licenses, and neither would impede on one another.
