Plans to update to 3.0.0? #50

Stable version 3.0.0 was just released. I love how your plugin simplifies the process of adding this great, free library to Wordpress, so I'd love to see you continue with it. At the same time I understand that version 3.0.0 is quite different as stated in the release and I guess this would more or less a rewrite of this plugin. So I just wanted to check what are your plans for the future before I decide whether I stay with this plugin or go the different paid plugin road. Thank you for your great work so far and hope to hear from you about this 🙂

Hey, @mkalamarz!

Thank you for your kind words and your interest in our WordPress plugin.

We do plan to migrate to orestbida/cookieconsent v3 in the near future.

However, as you mentioned, there are many changes compared to v2, so it will require a bit of research, planning, and experimentation before we’re ready to update. Thankfully, v2 will continue to receive maintenance updates for a while, which we’ll try to include in the plugin as soon as they become available.

Hey there, just discovered your plugin, looks great! Any estimate of the incorporation of V3?

over-engineer commented 4 months ago

Hey, @Jordidriesen!

We’re glad you like our WordPress plugin.

As of now, we can’t provide an ETA for updating to v3. Our current focus is on addressing Google Consent Mode (#51).

Please stay subscribed to this issue to receive notifications about its progress. We’ll let you know once we have a confirmed ETA.

Thanks for your understanding and patience :+1:

+1, I'm trying to use the plugin to share consent between a webapp (using the v3 js) and a Wordpress site, and I think maybe the version mismatch is what is causing it not to work...
