Begin/end setting doesn't work #20

I got a report from FOSSGIS that the start and end setting doesn't actually work.

Thank you so much @rixx! Please take me opening issues not as a "you have to deal with this". I also open issues for stuff that I (hopefully, eventually) get to. Though it's surely appreciated if you help out. Looking at the fix of this one, I don't know if I'd come up with such a solution quickly.
