There's a workaround to select the right cell phone number for the hero: just open the contacts app, set the desired number as default and then select it again on the hero screen.
Thanks for the tip! But I hope they will fix it for the long-term benefit. It would be easier to chose it from-app.
Workaround doesn't work for me (SGSII running CM9.1.0-galaxy2 (android 4.0.4)). It seems that Prey takes the first contact number (using the displayed list order in the contacts screen) rather than the default in my case. Shame as it's a great feature.
Workaround works for me (SGSII CM9 stable) but I hope Prey Team will update the app to manually set the right number...
+1 for manually setting the number (preferable) or at least let you choose which number from contact
Fixed! Next release will select the first mobile phone available.
Although this may address the OP issue, seems to me that this is just a workaround to it. There is the possibility of having a contact with several mobile phones and the assumption of 'first mobile number is the one' may end up being erroneous. Manually typing the hero number would be safer, since if the device is lost/stolen, the hero contact may end up being deleted or the entire contact list wiped. If going the fixed hero way, email bould be a nice-to-have addition, too. But at least now the feature is usable, thanks a lot.
Let me know if it is better to open a new issue for this or just reopen this is fine.
When I try to select a hero in my contact list, the first number of this contact is automatically selected (I cannot change it), even if it's a local phone (not a mobile phone).
Also, that would be great to be able to select the email of a contact, to receive an email instead of an SMS notification.
