The dependencies are the limiting factor here not Simulome itself. Plus Blast and Biopython should work with the Debian linux container ChromeOS comes with now. If not this means the ChromeOS is still lacking in fundamental unix libraries. If you are allowed to I would pick the right tools for the job and install ubuntu on the chromebook https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-on-chromebook#1-overview.
I believe that it would be a good idea to give this simulator compatibility with the Linux based ChromeOS for those students who only have access to devices that run that OS. I, for instance, can only access a Samsung Chromebook 2, issued by my school, and I am interested in this simulator.
