What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Created document in OOo to drag&drop to pencil. Saved as .ODF file.

  1. Selected all (ctrl-a) clicked on page to drag over to pencil canvas. would not accept.
  2. Saved the doc as html file. Same issue.
  3. opened saved html doc with Firefox. Drag & Drop worked fine! What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expected output is to be able to drag & drop objects onto Pencil canvas. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Version 1.2 Please provide any additional information below.

It seems Pencil 1.2 needs elevated privileges to run (I get a UAC popup each time I launch it). Windows prevents communication between "normal" and elevated applications for security.

So a workaround is to run your file manager as an Administrator. I just tried it and it works like a charm.

Of course it is easier if you use another file manager than Windows Explorer... If not, maybe this link can help you http://www.petri.co.il/run_windows_explorer_as_another_user.htm
