Dia (the diagram drawer application) has a few icons for networks, but they are clearly not attractive. Something like this (extended) would be fine: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=99205877 http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-108688061/stock-vector-cloud-computing-icons.html?src=pp-photo-99205877-1 Here are some (a little bit more "basic") in Creative Commons: http://www.flaticon.com/packs/computer-and-media-2/ (this is the one with the most potential of the open-license ones I found until now)
And even more basic: http://www.flaticon.com/packs/computer-icons/

I'm trying to migrate a office space into a Linux desktop environment and one application i'm "strugeling" with is a equivilant to Microsoft Visio.
Now, Pencil has all the functions i need but it doesn't have the content i need. One of the basic functions of a visual design application is network maps to better understand and get an overview of the network design, which isn't possible out of the box with pencil.
This is perhaps something the devs should look into if they assume to be a major shareholder of visual design applications.
