I have a few WALLC-S devices of mixed origin. Some of them have ZWave.me printed on the back and some are labelled POP. Product/ProductType/Manufacturer ID's differ (ie. POP has 257/256/340 and Wave.me has 257/256/277, only Manufacturer ID are different). The device firmware and capabilities are also a little bit different, the POP device seems to have newer firmware.
That put aside, I wanted to change settings on both types of devices but after changing the settings in Homey I can't get the devices to activate the new settings (button behaviour and associations). For both devices I have to press the four buttons together, the POPP version goes into config mode after a second, but for the ZWave.me version I have to keep the buttons pressed for 10 seconds. After the device enters config mode, I press the top-right button and notice that the status-LED starts flashing (which proofs that data is being transferred, I assume).
However, after the settings (presumably) being transferred the device is still behaving like before. The new settings were not activated at all. I have tried multiple (10+) times for both devices but could not make the new settings active.
Also, the ZWave.me device was added and paired as a new device, and I was able to change the config at least once. To make that happen I had to put in a new battery because pairing was also very troublesome. In my attempts to activate the latest config I notice some low_battery messages in the ZWave logging. The frequent low_battery started to happen with Homey 1.5.x and did not occur before and/or with other software (OpenHAB).
Now, configuring these WALLC-S devices has always been cumbersome but I always got it working eventually. But now I don't. Anyone having the same experience? Any tricks or suggestions?
