HGSS Pokédex won't reflect the new Pokémon locations #38

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
I randomized a HeartGold (U) ROM. I ran into a Togetic on Route 29, but
Pokédex says it doesn't live anywhere. Of the few other Johto species met so
far, at least Jynx, Bellsprout and Tentacool all show the locations they live
in normally.

I have so far only randomized this ROM so I have no idea if this affects other
games.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Pokédex should display the randomized locations of Pokémon, but it won't.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows, 1.2.0a

Update: tried again with 1.5.0 and the problem is still present.

This makes sense, in certain games the Pokedex doesn't read from wild Pokemon
data itself but from its own set of locations. I might fix this, but it'll
require more research into how this functions for HGSS in particular.

For what it's worth, I'm using a pokemon Ruby rom (from doperoms.com) and the
randomizer, and once I switch the pokedex to National Dex, it shows up all the
pokemon I've seen as well as their now correct randomized locations. Hope that
helps!
