With GitHub Writer, we enlarge the default markdown editor in GitHub. Not only it introduces WYSIWYG editing, but it also makes it easier to access a few Markdown features that are missing in the default editor toolbar. Here is a screenshot of it:
As we can see, it has been already updated to v2 icons. In the upgrade process, we tried to fill the missing icons with a design that goes towards v2.
The thing is that we want to respect the GitHub design as best as we can and we few uncomfortable of not using Octicons for all options.
We have two options:
Have the missing icons been taken in consideration for inclusion in Octicons. We're talking about Markdown features totally supported by GitHub and GFM.
As a fallback option, being lucky to have some feedback from the Octicons team on the icons, with recommendations and suggestions.
