Milestone 2 feedback #1

For storyboard 1:

Good storyboard. There's a clear situation, sequence, and result conveyed through the images.

One issue I have is I'm not clear on the relevance of the egg. Is this an egg that you guys make inside your app, or is it an egg from a different game – something like Pokemon Go, etc... My qualm with this is that, while one has a motivation of hatching eggs, what is one to do with the eggs after hatching and what value do they have?

Feedback for Storyboard1.jpg:

Your storyboard is well organized and has a situation, sequence, and an end result.

The idea seems a lot like Yelp to me. The storyboard is a bit unclear and I'm unsure if your application would be for discounted food only. I feel like this is a good idea, but it may be difficult to track what food is discounted. I think a way you could build upon this is adding coupons.

Feedback for "IMG_20170409_230137.jpg" (third storyboard) The concept of geographically-based contextual information about the world around you - in this case nearby water fountains - is fascinating, and useful enough to be promising. That being said, I feel like abstracting one level about just water fountains would allow the freedom necessary to build a really powerful app. This would allow you to use several APIs (Google Maps, or whatever) to get information about on-campus buildings, bathrooms in the area, wheelchair and ADA accessibility, etc.

Feedback for "IMG_20170410_000455.jpg" (fourth storyboard) I like the idea of ranking hiking trails a lot! The only concern is that existing websites and organizations (the National Parks Foundation, trailmaster, etc) do rank the difficulty of hikes already. I recommend fleshing out the app a bit to utilize the information already available and present it in a new, coherent way. Maybe adding features that take account of contextual information like how close the hikes are, how difficult they are to get to, seasonal closings, etc could be more useful!

Storyboard 2:

Awesome idea and clear setting, sequence, and result.

One issue that I foresee arising is that what happens when the tables inside of a location like Geisel are rearranged and no longer correspond to the layout designed in the app? It may be difficult to locate a group in such a case and the problem would require some creative engineering to solve.

Response for Akshay's Storyboard 7: The storyboard is very clear but it appears to me that this idea is far too similar to Yelp or Google, as they both provide an application that allows users to quickly find cheap food close to them. Some possible ways to differentiate: A bidding war between restaurants to offer lower prices to a specific user?

Storyboard 8: This one is sweet, but could be extrapolated to benefit all types of artists and not just musicians - almost like a specialized craiglists jobs section but for artists. This is a cool idea though.

Feedback for Storyboard2.jpg:

Your storyboard is well organized and has a situation, sequence, and an end result.

I really like your idea and think it would be a useful application. One competing idea to this could be Craigslist. How will you make your application difference than this?

Team NONAME(c9) For Storyboard 1, The hatching is definitely a good idea for the user (after seeing the success pokemon go had). I just wonder how working out truly relates, because walking is what causes the hatching. Maybe users could track their iron pumping instead and input progress manually to hatch the egg.

I really liked Siru's two storyboards. Not only did they show functionality but also gave a sense of what the theme of the app was. The storyboard was also very well drawn and really gave the audience a good understanding of what functionality will look like.

I think the Game Inviting app could provide some more on how the app relates to a map/geography theme.

For Siru A: For storyboard 1, it is well drawn and it presents the need, process and satisfaction very clearly. I really like this idea. The only thing is that since we are making a web app, I am not sure if we can make it to check the location in real time. That way the tracking feature might be weakened.

For Siru A' storyboard 2, I am not sure if you can find a map API that shows the real time capacity map inside a building. So this idea might be hard to achieve.

For Timothy Choi's storyboard1, I like the idea that make the color as motivation. but it does not clearly shown in the storyboard that whether the color is shape or trace. I think trace will be more achievable but as trade-off the simply color lines might not be that good for competition.

For Timothy Choi storyboard 2, there is no connection between the idea and map. The storyboard at least should show how map can help the system to invite people to attend the event. It's better to give a specific example of the event to better understand the scenario.

Prince Le's Storyboard #1: Great idea for encouraging people to drink more water and staying hydrated especially when they run out of water in their bottles. You can probably do some kind of reward system, like a game or social media based, to encourage people to use reusable water bottles instead of PET bottles or cans as containers.

Prince Le's Storyboard #2: Good idea for people who want to get into hiking. You could probably give tips for people who have never hiked before and create some kind of training set to help them have a better hiking experience while continually using your app.

Akshay Mahajan Storyboard #1: Band gigs are hard to come by and getting into one is also difficult so this is a difficult idea to pursue, since this kind of group might be on meetup.com or it's kind of a niche market. Maybe can do a collaboration with a music festival.

For Akshay Mahajan storyboard 2, the explanation for the storyboard seems unrelated to the storyboard itself. The feature of map in storyboard is not apparent. You should add more information on how to find the drummer nearby rather than only give the result.

Storyboard 3:

This game could potentially be really cool, but the storyboard seems confusing. The problem seems to be I want to do something, which could be satisfied by many different solutions. Also, the value of the specific game isn't really explained. You would have to flesh out this idea and get more feedback once you do.

Also, I wonder if a phone call from friends would be how people would be pulled into the app. Perhaps social media would be better, to organize groups of friends to play the game.

Storyboard 6:

I really like this storyboard. Clear problem, clear solution, clear value. The app is a little simplistic, so maybe it wouldn't be the most technically challenging to implement, but I would definitely use this. It would help people be more adventurous--I know some of my friends are always reluctant because they don't want to get lost or go on a too hard hike.
