Confirm page not appearing following a paypal purchase on v1.5.17 (24) #487

We just upgraded to 1.5.17 (24) and now when a user purchases a product via the paypal option, the order is processed appropriately and everything works to spec on the backend BUT the user defaults back to the 'Payment' page following the paypal process so it appears that the transcation did NOT work. The user used to be sent back to the order confirm page. Below is the screen that I was sent back to following payment, instead of the confirm page.
