Multiple users are reporting issues with using the GDAL engine after installing OSGeo4W. It seems that simply calling Python after completing the installation does not work (e.g. with python gdal_calc.py --help). Instead, the OSGeo4W shell needs to be called so that Python bindings for GDAL are setup correctly (e.g. with C:/OSGeo4W/OSGeo4W.bat gdal_calc.py --help).
