improve manuscript (fix #54) #56

Hi @Jo-Schie,

This PR aims to incorperate your feedback on the manuscript (mentioned in #54). When you get a chance, could you please take a look and let me know what you think? In particular, this PR adds the following information: (1) talks about how defaults for data cleaning procedures are well suited for national protected area coverage, (2) talks about how the data cleaning procedures can be customized, and (3) mentions possible applications where such customized data cleaning procedures might be useful.

EDIT: Once you're happy with these changes, I'll merge them into the main branch and close the corresponding issue.

I just realized/remembered that some of your suggestions in #53 also affect the manuscript, and incorperating them in a seperate PR will doubtless create merge conflicts between this one and a PR for that issue. As such, I will close this PR, and create a single PR that address all your feedback.
