Features:

• [x] The widget will list existing items in the todo list with a checkbox.

There is always a window open for improvements when it comes to cosmetic enhancements. Possible example can be the attached screenshot with having some animation when ticking/unticking the list.

• what if the user decide to fill the input with , how it is behaving currently within the system? any possibilities of improvement here?

It will save the value in database. And when we will fetch the value it will be sanitized. @marufdevops

I can make the design same as the given image but in WordPress each theme has some unique style and in plugin, it is highly recommended not to design much so I kept the design as per as the theme.
