add the rel="me" attribute to the Mastodon link, this way the Mastodon account can verify itself. Mastodon docs: https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/profile/#verification rel="me" specification: https://microformats.org/wiki/RelMeAuth

You could also add the Mastodon link to the Github organization. Linking to the organization will then be also be verified on Mastodon similar to how my mastodon looks (https://mastodon.social/@shadowwwind)
