📝 Correction | ETag Stoppa and HTTPS Everywhere may now be redundant, LocalCDN supersedes Decentraleyes, etc. #2260

Description

From my understanding HTTPS Everywhere is now redundant since the inclusion of HTTPS-Only mode in FF83+. Also ClearURLs already includes the capability to remove ETags making ETags Stoppa unnecessary, granted you only recommended it to Android users. But still, a more useful addon would be First Party Isolation to toggle First Party Isolate mode on and off to fix broken logins. Lastly, the addon LocalCDN supports more site libraries to prevent further tracking than Decentraleyes.

Why I am making the suggestion

I think I explain most of my points in the above, though for me recommending First Party Isolation, let me say that the Container Tabs feature makes First Party Isolate redundant in most cases in addition to it having the advantage to allowing cross domain logins to work too. It's only major drawback seems to be the lack of availability on Android. First Party Isolation acts as a workaround to allow cross domain logins with FPI by temporarily disabling it.

My connection with the software

I have no connections; I'm merely someone who uses and tried to keep up with 12bytes.org's privacy guides and Arkenfox's wiki.

HTTPS-Everywhere EASE is spiritual superseded by HOM, that's right. However the large set of upgrade/rewrite is still unique to HTTPS-Everywhere. Nevertheless HOM is actually enough (and preferred), even for less technical users.

to toggle First Party Isolate mode on and off to fix broken logins.

Better: Use TCP/dFPI if you need Xsite loggin that is broken by FPI. It should work with TCP/dFPI.

Lastly, the addon LocalCDN supports more site libraries to prevent further tracking than Decentraleyes.
