I agree this feature would be useful. I'll see if I can add it shortly and let
you know. Would you be interested in subscribing to the project's Google Group?
That way I can send announcements to the group such as new features more
easily. Also, if you'd like to contact me by email directly (and this offer
holds for other users of the software) I'd be happy to send updates directly.
Perhaps you would also be willing to provide some feedback on this new feature
once I've added it, etc...?

I am actively following this project and am really interested in it
I surely wouldn't mind providing feedback once the feature is added :)
thanks for wanting to add this feature!

I'm going to see how I can add this capability in the current user interface.
The underlying code should be relatively simple to actually navigate through
the audio. If you have suggestions for good ways to interact with the software
for fast-forward and rewind please let me know here, or by emailing the Google
group for this project.

I've been thinking about this..
Most intuitive would be touch-and-hold the left part of the screen for rewind
and touch-and-hold the right part of the screen for fast forward
if the touch length is less than 2 seconds pause, if it's 2 seconds or longer
forward or rewind (for example)
it would also be nice if there's a way to directly enter position in minutes
and seconds (perhaps a menu item or something)
as some books are converted from cassette recordings and have from 45 minutes
per "chapter"

While I don't think I have 'fixed' this request, I've released r267 (available
on the Downloads page) that includes some basic support for the rewind and
fast-forward capabilities. There are some technical limitations in the current
user-interface code which means I cannot implement your sensible
recommendations for the user-interactions. I hope I will be able to enhance the
user-interface based on your suggestions relatively quickly. Perhaps you would
be willing to try the interim release and see if it's usable even if it's not
ideal.
Thanks

Hi Julian,
I tested this version in my car and had the usual interruptions of traffic info
while the book was playing which causes me to miss a few seconds
an ideal time to test this new feature :)
I think you bypassed the current UI limitations in an elegant way, navigating
felt quite natural and in my experience the 10 seconds interval is good
I would even like to suggest that when implementing other navigation options to
also keep this feature (if future UI allows it) as I am liking it for quick
short skips :)
thanks for the update!
