test plan:
initPmtk3 run('/Users/mrich/pmtk3/pmtksupportCopy/randraw/randraw.m') run('/Users/mrich/pmtk3/pmtksupportCopy/Sparsa/demo_complex_l2_l1.m')
I'm on a trial version and a mac, so some of the demos dont work for me, but im able to successfully run a few of these demos, which wouldnt be possible if the issue at hand wasnt fixed.
