When a page is saved with a required field in an empty state there are usually two error messages shown: one in the admin notifications area and in the inputfield to highlight where the correction needs to be made.
But when a required image custom field is empty the error message in the inputfield can't be seen when the images field is displayed in Square Grid or Proportional Grid mode. Compare the "Text 1" and "Images custom" fields in the screenshot below.
So it would be great if the images field was temporarily shown in Vertical List view so the inputfield is highlighted.
Hopefully this could be done in a way that doesn't affect the view mode cookie so that when the error is corrected the images field goes back to whatever its previous/standard view mode is.
