Higher power consumption with AirportItlwm.kext version 2.0.0 #181

Hi,

I noticed this comparating AirportItlwm.kext version 2.0.0 (included since EFI 2.3.0) and version 1.3.0 (I think the last EFI with this version was 1.9.0).

Using Intel power gadget, I saw the value of consumption (IDLE) with AirportItlwm.kext 1.3.0 was about 0,80-0,90 W. With 2.0.0 version, this value rised to 1,50-1,60 W. (using EFI 2.3.0 in both cases).

I know, version 2.0.0 is faster and more stable than 1.3.0, but this power consumption increase are quite bigger and causes a faster battery draining.

Did you experience something similar?

I'll check this asap...

Edit: 2021/08/08 I made a fresh new install of macOS Monterey Beta4 and effectively I can confirm your values for power consumption with AirportItlwm v. 2.0.0.

Have you reported your findings on itlwm Gitter page?
