Just wanted to share it in case somebody find this useful. Today I decided to jump to Big Sur doing a normal upgrade instead of a clean install. I was running Catalina 15.7 with EFI 1.9.1 and just followed Upgrade-to-macOS-Big-Sur (just the steps to prepare the EFI for the USB install disk). The installation was successful and the machine was working perfectly fine with 1.9.1, with no other change!. I decided otherwise to bump to v2.4.0 to have latest improvements.
