This document will describe each Trident communication tool and how to connect to it. It also needs to include instructions about how to join Telegram without a personal telephone number.

What about using Matrix?

decentralized: It's a network of multiple smaller servers. (like Mastodon, XMPP and e-mail) Lot of servers has open registration
doesn't require phone number, neither a Google account (as it is in the above PDF) Some Matrix servers doesn't even require an e-mail address for registration, just pick a username and a password and you are ready to chat.
Guest users (without an account) can see the conversation (if you enable it in the room settings)
has state-of-the-art E2EE which is enabled by default in 1:1 chats (can be used even for reporting security vulnerabilities)
can be seamlessly bridged with the existing Telegram room (and as a bonus, thanks to the amazing bridging capabilities of Matrix, all Matrix users will see the Telegram users as they had native Matrix accounts)
It has lot of good stuff that Telegram has: huge variety of open source clients and bots, etc.

Many projects have switched to Matrix already.

What about using Matrix?

We technically already have one, but its unused at the moment. I made the room and made it private just so we'd have the channel available. I've switched it public but i haven't bridged it yet with the telegram group.
