Thanks for pointing this one out. Implementation was actually easier than thought - just copy and paste from existing code. Will get it to appear at button location if required.
Well, it pops up, but always at the pointer ... while --help says that you have to add -p to get it to popup at the pointer ...

Many Xfce plugins can be opened with a script, which would be cool for The Hamster too!
