Hourly Predictions

Site Example: http://predict.habhub.org/hourly/elsworth/ (There are many more hourly predictors for different sites, but i don't know all the URLs)

Functions:

• Generates forward predictions for a specified launch site, stepping into the future in 1 hour steps.
• Hourly predictors for different sites have to be generated by a server admin, by dropping a config file into a directory.

Code:

• Unknown where this lives!

Upgrade suggestions:

• Given we now have the lightning fast Tawhiri API available (used by leaflet-predictor), it now makes sense to move the running of these predictions to the client-side, so they can be run on-demand. This is how the launch site predictions on the Sondehub tracker are performed.
• This could be provided as an addition to the current leaflet-predictor page (recommended, since a lot of the code required is already there). Additional UI elements will need to be added to specify a time step, and perhaps a time limit (how far into the future predictions are run).

If this was a simple (!) reworking of existing code to.work on the new site I would be happy to take a look, but given we don't know where the old code is, and that you suggest that this is rewritten to be client side, I wouldn't know where to start, sorry...

I can say I value the current service, makes working out launch windows a lot easier than without...
