Clean Inbox button: Change behaviour #158

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Main screen > Inbox
2. Push button "Clean Inbox"
3.

What is the expected output?
When playing around, you expect this button to delete finished tasks (or
remove them from the inbox view at least)

What do you see instead?
All my inbox issues removed or placed somewhere out of sight without
retrieving possibilties. You really feel betrayed for your hard work of
entering stuff by hand seeing removed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.5.1 on HTC Hero vanilla 1.5 with SENSE interface

Please provide any additional information below.
The issues as mentioned in #36 and #107 are similar in working and could be
merged. The problem I see with the "clean inbox" button is that is falsely
cleans your inbox whenever you push it, but your tasks are not done. Just
like in Astrid, you could say for example "hide this item for 1 day, work
hours, etc". Or the inbox could be adapted for only certain contects /
projects.

Cleaning Inbox moves out all actions that have either a context or a project.
This is standard GTD behaviour.
Your actions are not deleted there are available under the context and/or
project you categorized them under.

See http://code.google.com/p/android-shuffle/wiki/OnlineHelp for more details.
