IE History Inaccurate After Opening Document in New Window (TARGET=_blank) #60

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Navigate from document A to document B to document C in the same parent 
browser.
2. Click the Back button; document B appears as expected.
3. Navigate again from document A to document B to document C.
4. Navigate from document C to document D where D appears in a new browser 
because it has the attribute TARGET=_blank.
5. Click the Back button on the document C browser.  Document A appears 
INSTEAD of document B.  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
RSH 0.6 on Windows 2003 Server.

Please provide any additional information below.
This problem occurs under IE 6 & 7.  It does not occur under Firefox 2.0.

I would be eternally grateful for a workaround or resolution.
