Restrict Content Pro → Changing Membership Level Prices → existing accounts will *not* be affected #5

We had a customer who had adjusted the price of a Restrict Content Pro membership level and expected that the price of existing memberships (subscriptions) would also be adjusted. However, this is not how Restrict Content Pro works, as described in: https://help.ithemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050093213-Changing-Membership-Level-Prices.

Does changing the price of a membership level affect existing memberships?

As stated above, changing the price of a membership level with active members is not recommended, but if you do choose to change the price anyway, existing accounts will not be affected. The amount they pay each renewal period will remain unchanged.

Restrict Content Pro does not inform its users about this when adjusting a membership level price. Should we inform Restrict Content Pro users about this to avoid such issues/tickets/questions? Or are there other ways we can tackle this?

This has not often been an issue after 2021 and with https://github.com/pronamic/wp-pronamic-pay-restrict-content-pro/issues/19 we now also support price changes. I don't think you can increase the price of all memberships at once, but this still has to be done per membership.
