I'm not sure how it could be achieved, but it would be awesome if we could have permanent pets. I know some games have this, I think WoW does.
Perhaps there's a service fee to keep it, so you need to keep having gold in your account like a hostel room.
It would probably require further interface like being able to leave a pet behind and then being able to have it follow you again on command.
And then there's the benefit side, currently pets are just gate mobs for the most part, perhaps we could give them more function? Or maybe just having a portable gate mob might be good enough? It'd be cool if they could help in combat though.
