Hi, I want to ask you, I downloaded Protege 5.2.0 on Windows 8 and when I opened it, SPARQL tabs didn't show. So I was searching and it said that I must update the plugins. So, I update the plugins, but after that, I can't open protege after double-clicking it. How to solve that? Thank you :)

I am having an identical, or very similar, issue on Windows 7! I notice no progress on this thread from 3 months ago... :(

I downloaded Protege 5.2.0 , and it started fine... but as soon as I updated one of the plugins (I forget which one, but it was at the very bottom of the list), I can no longer open Protege after double-clicking on the Protege.exe file.

The issue seemed to go away by running Protege.exe "as an Administrator" (R-click on it)... but only for a while! (I'm logged into Windows7 as a non-admin user.)

I tried deleting the Protege registry entries, as suggested by https://github.com/protegeproject/protege/issues/369 , but that didn't help. In fact, even running Protege.exe "as an Administrator" no longer works now!

A process is created, but then nothing happens; the process appears inactive, and nothing whatsoever is appended to the C:\Users\[YOUR-USER-NAME]\.Protege\logs\protege.log file.

Deleting the C:\Users\[YOUR-USER-NAME]\.Protege\plugins folder did not help, and neither did rebooting nor re-downloading Protege 5.2.0

=> Fortunately, starting Protege' from its run.bat file (which will start Protege also showing a console window) always works. I was not able to gain any particular insight from the output on the console window, though...

I have a 2nd installation of Protege 5.2.0 on a separate Windows 7 machine, and it seems fine (I did NOT update any plugin there.) Likewise for a 3rd installation on a Windows 10.
