What the title says, there are no X-axis STP files, please include them.

I tried the SCAD files but they have errors when I open them in Open SCAD

Prusa-Support commented 2 years ago

Hey @padillla could you name a few corrupted files in the Original-Prusa-i3/Printed-Parts/SCAD directory? I've checked a few and I didn't seem to find errors. Maybe a problem on the 3D editing/modeling/viewer program side?

About missing STEP files, this could be intentional and similar issues were already listed a few times: such a request could be closed as a duplicate. If this is no longer a concern and the problem with corrupted files is confirmed, please mind editing the title of the issue.

They also work here...

It's not just the X axis parts, but other parts as well. I can open them in OpenSCAD, but I was not able to figure out how to export to STEP from OpenSCAD. It would be nice if they were directly available as STEP files in the repo.

I tried to find the intentional reasons from other reported issues, but didn't yet find them. If the related tickets are known, it would be helpful if they were linked here.

Edit: I found the explanation: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/printable-parts-for-original-prusa_1824:

Some parts were designed using OpenSCAD, where SCAD files are the project files you can edit. For that reason, for all parts designed with OpenSCAD, there are only SCAD files and no STEP-files available.
