[BUG] Make sure to lower Z before running Phase Stepping Calibration #3802

Open Skaronator opened 7 months ago

Skaronator commented 7 months ago

Printer type - XL

Printer firmware version - 6.0.0-alpha

Original or Custom firmware - Original

Optional upgrades - 5 Tool Head

USB drive or USB/Octoprint USB

Describe the bug Please make sure to lower Z axis before running the Phase Stepping Calibration. The printer scratched my printed bed since it was at 0 mm

How to reproduce Probably easier reproduction but in my case:

  1. Start a print on older firmware
  2. Noticed while printing the first layer that it didn't stick well
  3. Reset the printer
  4. Printer noticed that a newer firmware is on the USB drive
  5. Flash to newer firmware
  6. Printer asks for calibration
  7. (My printhead is still at first layer height)
  8. Run calibration
  9. Printer will scratch the hell out of the bed (since mesh bed leveling data is missing and the bed isn't perfectly level it'll touch the bed on some corners)

Expected behavior Printer should lower Z axis before doing any movement
